Use Your Imagination

Think back to when you were little. What did you spend most of your time doing? Playing?? Probably pretending and using your imagination. Girls pretending they are princesses spinning in their ball gowns.

The truth is we have responsibility and that leads to completing tasks with little imagination. Paying the bills. Getting it done. But often times we are left unsatisfied because the creative imagination that God gave us goes unused. We make the logical choices. We follow the standards. We don’t deviate because deviation often times involves risk, and so we often times let one of the most parts of our make up left untrained, weak, and we forfeit our hearts for security

But I have come to see that faith involves risk. It requires us to stake all we have in one person. It means I have to use my imagination as an adult. I have to use my heart to see His way, to follow His path, to trust His Word instead of my own way of thinking, my own logic. I was thinking about imagination the other day, and then I read a devotional by Joseph Prince, and the title was “Now my eyes see you, Lord.” It was so fitting, and I knew the Lord was trying to teach me something about imagination. In Job 42:5, Job is speaking and says, “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eyes see you.” He wasn’t talking about actually seeing God, it was his own revelation of who He knew God to be in his heart.

You see our hearts are the seat of our imagination, and we need to spend time seeing the things God has written in our hearts come alive in pictures. We need to see the healing we need. We need to see our business prosper. We need to dream about our kids being full of the love of God, successful in family, relationships, and business.

What is it that God wrote on your heart that you haven’t spent time imagining, believing, having faith in? And you don’t have to do it the world’s logical way. You can follow His design, His leading. It might not happen overnight, but it will come to pass just as He said. And your part is easy. Just believe and see in your heart, and it will come to pass. Don’t let your imagination go to fear. Instead let it go to the personal revelation God has given you! Don’t just hear it. See it. Dwell on it. Talk about it. Take the small steps because along the way they lead to great victories.opentheeyesofmyheart

Use your imagination. It might be hard at first. Play with your kids and actually pretend you are a princess too….or better yet the queen or the king. See it. Develop that part of you by depending on God’s grace. Will you feel silly at first? Probably. But is it worth it? Definitely. I believe it can change the whole course of your life if you use the eyes of your heart, your imagination, for the good instead of the negative.

Enjoy your life! See yourself enjoying your kids, your husband, your family, your friends, and most importantly your God who loves you so much He gave the best for you and to you, so you could be blessed with all things that pertain to life and godliness. And with Him you will accomplish great feats and be fully satisfied.
